Record stop strips are a must in nearly all cases as it saves a lot of time and hassle manually facing up your collection. This a fixed strip of wood that we position towards the back of the cabinet. Simply slide your records in and these will stop to leave a 2cm space in front of your records.

Having decided to enter the world of grown up hifi and to dig out my old vinyl (and invest in some new) I ordered a state of the art modern steros system with turntables. But I really needed something on and in which to store it. Having almost been persuaded by an online catalogue offering a thin veneer coated chipboard unit, I thankfully continued my research and found Lagom. The positive reviews were solid enough and the furniture looked ideal for my needs. I placed my order. One of the advantages of a queuing system is that the team don't get to work on your furniture straight away. I can understand why there is a queue, because what they make is very special and clearly in demand.
A couple of weeks after placing the order, I decided that I would prefer three separate amp/receiver compartments rather than two as I might want to introduce a an additional component at some point. I submitted a query about the width of the wood and therefore the internal dimensions of the sections. It was clear that the CD player and amp I had on order would be a very tight fit in the spaces if opting for three sections. I didn't want to go a full 10cm wider on the unit (150cm), but I was advised that I could have the unit cut to a 145cm width which is what they did.
For reasons beyond their control, there was a slight delay on fulfilling my order, but I was notified of this and in any event, was prepared to wait for what I anticipated would be an exquisite piece of furniture and perfect for my needs. And that is precisely what we got. I should also add that I went for the full backing option (with holes for wires) and I was stunned to find that the backing is solid stained wood and not flimsy timber that you get with flatpack furniture.
We had opted for the wooded turned legs. We are not against black metal per se, but felt the wooden legs would fit the vibe of our lounge much better. Though on the Lagom website and on the social media you don't actually see many examples of the wooden turned legs. That would be my only feedback to the company. But I am providing some pics of our unit to help make up for that deficit.
All communication has been superb. Particularly from Harry and Chris. They really do place a lot of importance on customer care. I really liked regular updates towards the end on the order tracking letting me know that the wood had been cut, when it was assembled, and then finally the finishing touches applied before it was ready for dispatch.
I could not be happier with my purchase and have no hesitation in recommending this company. If I could give them 20 stars, I would!
Placing the order was easy and delivery lead was as expected. Delivery itself was faultless too.
Very please with the unit - the storage space for records also happens to be the right size to hold drinks too - so mine acts as a combination record/drinks holder. Very pleased with my purchase.
I went for a 180 wide unit, with a 20 cm high amp section with black hairpin legs. I asked for 2 dividers at the vinyl section and to cope these as well into the amp section. And I ordered the backing and the very useful vinyl stops. I opted not to have any cable holes as I was not sure where I wanted my equipment. My centre speaker sits very nicely in the middle amp section and I made a framework with black speaker cloth to hide the speaker.
Lagom was very helpful on the phone, and gave me all individual measurements of the individual components that make up a cabinet. This way I was able to have all the internal vinyl sections the same width as I ordered at the same time 2 other items to house most of my vinyl collection. All my vinyl sections for all 3 cabinets are the same width. This looks very nice. Without the help of Chris to give me all the individual dimensions this would never be possible.
On the time of the order I received the order confirmation together with an estimated delivery day. That day was indeed the actual delivery day. When it was delivered, (3 items in total) they all were well packed and there were no issues whatsoever. The overal experience with Lagom Studio was amazing, and the quality of the product is outstanding. I am really happy with my choices.
